Improving technologies for hip replacement using trabecular bionic stem Physiohip

Background. The method of joint replacement is the most progressive and common in the surgical treatment of severe lesion of the joints. The main unsolved problems in joint replacement are currently the injury rate of the surgery and implant survival rate. The study purpose was to improve the method of hip replacement using the femoral component Physiohip. Materials and methods. The article presents a method for improving the technology of hip arthroplasty with the use of trabecular bionic stem Physiohip. Osteotomy of the neck is made horizontally and L­shaped to the anatomical axis of the femur. The configuration of the stem provides for the possibility of filling it with bone autoblocks from the head and proximal femur. Results. Positive results of treatment were obtained in patients aged 40–45 years with idiopathic coxarthrosis and avascular necrosis of the femoral head. The peculiarity of sparing rehabilitation improves the processes of osseointegration. Conclusions. The 7­year clinical experience of using this technology in hip arthroplasty by means of trabecular bionic stem Physiohip makes it possible to draw a conclusion about its effectiveness and the appropriateness of its application in clinical practice.
