The role of hybrid SPECT/CT imaging in the diagnostic monitoring of patients with pathology of the bones of the lower limbs (review of literature)

Abstract


The review of the literature considers the key issues of the clinical application of hybrid SPECT/CT imaging in patients with lesions of bone of the lower extremities. The development of hybrid imaging has revolutionized the diagnosis of patients with a wide range of pathological processes of the bones of the lower extremities at all stages of development and plays an important role in modern monitoring of patients. Synthesis of functional information obtained with the help of SPECT in combination with a high-resolution CT allows for efficient diagnosis of pathological metabolism in the affected area of the bone with simultaneous evaluation of coexisting structural changes.
