Hip Dislocation After Total Hip Arthroplasty

A.I. Kanziuba

Abstract

The purpose of research was the analysis of own observations of hip dislocations after primary total hip arthroplasty, the identification of predisposing factors and optimization of program of rehabilitation of patients. Predisposing factors were identified on the basis of preoperative clinical and radiological examination, intraoperative observation and analysis of the features of the rehabilitation period of 844 patients undergone total hip arthroplasty. Dislocations after surgery were noted in 69 (7.56 %) cases. The following factors were identified: violation of the movement mode in the early postoperative period, the axial deformation on the level of the hip, knee, shin and foot, which violate the function of support and movement of the operated limb. Necessity of revision surgery on the hip joint in the repeated dislocations has been caused due to a lack of anteversion of acetabular component. Planning primary arthroplasty, including the choice of implant and surgical approach, there must be taken into account the physical and mental state of the patient, local and systemic biomechanical disorders. The rehabilitation period is required an individual choice of a program of rehabilitation treatment.
