Abstract

A randomized open clinical study evaluating the efficacy of extracorporeal shock wave therapy in the treatment of 34 patients with myofascial low back pain syndrome has been performed. The high efficiency of physical therapy techniques in conjunction with baseline drug therapy which associated with a decrease in pain intensity, reduction of need for analgesic drugs and a significant improvement of subjective evaluation of treatment effectiveness had been revealed.
