Myeloacupuncture and Electromyeloacupuncture in the Treatment of Spinal Cord Injuries

The article presents a review of current literature on the application of such reflexotherapeutic methods of acupuncture as mechanic myeloacupuncture and electromyeloacupuncture in spinal cord injuries that is theoretically justified, provides motor and analgesic effect by stimulating the production of endorphins, enkephalins and endomorphin, opioid peptides, thyrotropin-releasing hormone and substance P in the body, restoration of the content of enzymes, growth factors and cell reception in the spinal cord. In the future, we will develop the most rational medical technology on the application of such acupuncture in the comprehensive treatment of patients with spinal cord injuries, the definition of indications and contraindications for the use of these methods of acupuncture at different variants of the clinical course of spinal cord injuries.
