Clinical and Nosological Structure of Long Bones Injuries of Persons Suffered Due to the Traffic Accidents

Abstract


The article presents the analysis of 139 cases of long bone injuries associated with polytrauma due to traffic accidents. There were considered the main clinical and nosological characteristics of long bone injuries. It was established that the injuries of long bones were mostly combined with head injuries in 60.21 %, with the chest ones — 11.74 %, and abdominal ones — 8.67 %. Limbs multiple injuries were in 10.20 % cases. The injuries of the long bones of the lower extremities were in 56.84 % cases, those ones of the upper extremities — in 23.02 % persons, those ones of upper and lower extremities — in 20.14 % patients. The right-side injuries amounted about 43.17 %, the left-side injuries occurred in 39.57 % cases, and bilateral injuries were in 17.26 % persons. Injuries of the tibia waeres observed in 30.2 % cases, peroneal injuries were in 25.09 % patients, the femoral ones occurred in 18.04 % cases, the humerus ones were observed in 14.9 % persons, radius injuries were in 7.06 % cases, ulnar ones were in 4.71 % cases. The ratio of combination of long bone injuries in the group of survived was 1.71, in the group of died was 2.48, in the total array of the research that parameter was 1.83. Simple injuries were observed in 16.08 % cases, syntripsis were in 76.47 % cases, multi-fragment injuries were in 7.45 % cases. The injuries of individual segments of long bones were characterized by their variability, but in general array of the research they were almost identical: the proximal segment injury was in 33.11 % cases, diaphyseal segment and distal segment ones occurred in 32.76 % and 34.13 % cases, relatively. In 12.97 % cases there were observed the bisegmental injuries.
