Clinical Results of Unicondylar Knee Replacement For Medial Osteoarthritis

G.G. Bilonozhkin

Abstract

This article presents the results of unicondylar replacement for medial osteoarthritis of the knee joint in 48 patients (54 joints), mean age — 64 years. Surgeries were performed using Oxford implants (phase 3). When studying outcomes up to 5 years after surgery, excellent results according to International association of the knee joint were obtained in 69.2 % of cases, good — in 30.8 %. Given the strict indications for unicondylar knee joint replacement, minimally invasive technique is organ-preserving, reduces the period of rehabilitation of patients, enables to achieve favorable functional outcomes.
